10th Speck Festival in Villnoess
On the last weekend in September, from Friday 28rd to Sunday 30rd, St. Magdalena will host the festival dedicated to South Tyrolean Speck PGI (cured ham with Protected Geographical Indication), now in its 10th year. The festival opens on Friday at 10 a.m. From the festival site at the foot of the Odle mountain range the views are stunning and reach across one of the most beautiful mountain sceneries in the South Tyrol.
Every year, a surprise Speck display will be revealed on the last day of the festival. After the most “specktacular” displays of the previous years, such as half a kilometre of Speck buffet, a Speck crown weighing over half a tonne, or a “Speck sky” – this year’s surprise creation has a lot to live up to! It will be revealed on Sunday at 12 p.m.
